Wikipedia

Kinmokusei are a Japanese pop band formed in 1998 that rose to fame with their second single, “Futari no akaboshi", charted within the top ten on the Oricon chart.

The band consists of Shungo Ito (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ryo Sasaki (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals),  Hideto Goto (guitar, backing vocals), Yusuke Shirai (bass) and Tomohiro Harigae (drums).

Kinmokusei's debut album "Ongaku wa subarashii mono da" (2002) incorporated the sounds of Japanese pop music in 1970s. Following a stylistic change influenced by Japanese pop musicians such as Eiichi Otaki, Tatsuro Yamashita, and Yumi Arai, Kinmokusei released "Kazenoko de itaine" (2003), "NICE BEAT" (2004), and "13 gatsu no ballad" (2005). After that the band has gone on hiatus in 2008.

In July 2018, Kinmokusei has announced reunion for Sagamihara show. In 2019, Kinmokusei released new album “Japanese pops” .
